Thomas Rotherham College is the largest sixth form college provider in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. We have a tradition of achievement and aim to provide a future of opportunity to all our students.
The College is part of Inspire Trust which includes Oakwood High School and Sitwell Junior School, a truly community-based Trust. As a Trust we are committed to developing a set of shared values through every aspect of our work. These values are the development of respect, responsibility, resourcefulness, resilience, reflection, risk taking and relationships.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Work Experience Team. This role will be instrumental in supporting the college to provide work placement opportunities for students and help them to gain crucial work experience and begin their next steps into their chosen career. The work of the Work Placement Co-ordinator enables our students to gain fundamental employability and self-management skills along with building on their self-confidence, whilst also supporting the College in meeting the Gatsby benchmarks.
The successful candidate will be required to build strong working relationships with local companies and sell the benefits of supporting a young person on work experience. We are therefore looking for someone that possesses excellent communication and negotiation skills to secure placements with employers.
Whilst working alongside another colleague, the successful candidate should be able to work independently and have strong organisation and IT skills, be reliable and able to represent the College and the Trust in a professional manner.
All staff are required to work in a way that encourages a positive work environment that is solution focused and proactive for all.
We offer a positive working environment, we care about our students and we care about our staff, all of whom know that and appreciate that. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be part of this, contribute to this culture and develop it further.
