TRC STUDENT RECEIVES GENEROUS BURSARY FROM THE ROTHERHAM SITWELL ROTARY CLUB

Representatives, including the President, from The Rotherham Sitwell Rotary Club visited the college to present former TRC student, Caitlin Cooper, with a certificate having been selected to receive their generous bursary.

Caitlin left TRC this summer having gained an outstanding 3 x Distinction* (D* D* D*) in her BTEC Health and Social Care course. She was nominated by both her Progress Tutor and Work Placement Coordinator to receive the award for her continued commitment to her studies and for completing two highly successful work placements in the field of Health and Social Care within the local area.

The Club is able to offer its support to students within the local community and aims to promote the importance of a quality education, having received a generous donation from fellow member Dr Gurnan Basran (pictured).  The bursary itself was available to students wishing to progress onto Nursing courses at university.

Due to her hard work and impressive results, Caitlin is now leaving Rotherham to pursue a Child Nursing course at Sheffield Hallam University.  She said, “I’m delighted to receive this bursary, which provides me with a fantastic opportunity. I can’t wait to start my course and to make a difference and I’m very grateful to the Rotherham Sitwell Rotary Club for their kind support.”  Caitlin plans to use the money to purchase essential equipment for her course such as her uniform and text books.

Stephen Burns, President of the Rotherham Sitwell Rotary (pictured), extended his congratulations to Caitlin on her fantastic achievement and together with representatives from the Club, the Head of College and members of the Careers and Work placement team, wished Caitlin the very best of luck in her future studies.
